Creation of a wallpaper
It was probably Jens Karlsson who inspired me to make my first wallpaper. It was some time before the Millennium and he created Desktop Imperium, which sadly doesn't exist any more. My first self-made desktop picture was a collaboration of a couple of photos of the movie pulp fiction. It looked pretty awful - but it was a start :)
Nowadays when I am creating a new wallpaper it takes probably 4-10 hours of extreme photoshopping, depending on how much time I am going to spend for experimenting. Most of the time I don't really know how the wallpaper should look like in the first place, but then things are tumbling together. Sometimes it's just a color scheme that gets me hooked up and I'll start on another piece of 1600x1200 virtual paper.

This video shows the creation the wallpaper “A dream of summer”. The song is
from Polarkreis 18 and it's called “operation sun“.
Above you see the creation of a wallpaper. The photo was shot in Croatia in 2006 and its colors were edited in Adobe Photoshop by using the Hue/Saturation Adjustment layer. Also I added a motion blur effect on the photo and added several levels of different elements - like the circles in the background or the orange lines on the left and right side. By using the mask-tool and adding some adjustment layers the wallpaper came to life.

regenerating wallpapers
During the relaunch of this website I polished a several of my wallpaper. Some of them are a couple of years old and I now see things a little bit differently than once. So I adjusted the colors by using the curves-tool in Photoshop, arranged the different layers slightly different or just played around with some masking-effects.

- Creative Flame (after): got rid off the lines

- Dark Diver (after): more color and less ”stuff“

- Hidden Samurai (after): made it much cleaner
- Revenge (before)
- Revenge (after): made it more clearer & opened her eyes

- Sailboat Of Water (after): no person in the picture, better sky

this is a cool website and I think its good because you let me to see the size of the screen that it will fit and think its cool because you let me watch how it moves. I think this webstie is really good so if anyone sees this please comment too because this website is really cool!
